The 4/4 — or full size — violin is typically recommended for students aged 11 and above, or anyone with an arm length of 23.5 inches (60 cm) or greater. This is the standard orchestral violin size used by advancing students, conservatory musicians, and professional performers worldwide.
Reaching full size is a milestone. It means your musician has grown into the instrument that will carry them through the rest of their musical life — from school orchestra and honor ensembles to conservatory auditions and professional performance.
